Heartwarming Soup Support Program

Join the Dandelion Cafe and The Hive in providing support to local families over this winter season. Starting December 3rd, every other Thursday from 4:00-6:00PM For a $10 minimum donation, The Dandelion Cafe' will be selling delectable homemade quarts of soup out of their side door of the restaurant at 725 E. 2nd Ave. This event has been a great success, so we will continue to do this every other week through the winter!

100% of the proceeds will be administered by The Hive's Youth Board Committee to identify local families and support them in paying bills and purchasing food and resources for the winter season.

The Soup Support Application Period starts on Fridays at 8AM and closes on Mondays at 8PM (every other week)

Due to limited funds, we will only have application open during these times:

January 15th-18th

January 29th- February 1st

February 12th- 15th

February 26th - March 1st

March 12th - March 15th

Durango Learning Lab

(Currently cancelled until February Session!)

The Hive has joined a large initiative called the Durango Learning Lab led by the Powerhouse Science Center. The Learning Lab provides a full-day learning and enrichment program for first through twelfth grade students learning from home some or all of this year. Participants will split their day between pursuing self-directed academic goals and extracurricular activities in small cohorts of 8-12 students. We will be starting with three afternoons each week during our first five-week session that begins next week! Additional five-week sessions begin February 8, March 22, and April 26.

- The Hive will be offering Enrichment classes every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:15-3:15. Some classes we will provide are Screen Printing, Create A Skate (where you make your own skateboard!), Photography, Fly fishing and Wilderness Awareness, Like Skills, etc.

Students will be matched with a tutor for support in any subject they need.

Daily Remote Learning Support Program

The Hive will be open during weekday mornings to support students who need a space to do online schooling or homework. Due to limited space, it would be preferred space is reserved with the Hive staff at kelsie@hivedgo.org.

Hive Program Pricing

Please note that although we have fees for participation, we would like to offer donation-based fees as well, meaning pay what you can if you can. We will never turn away youth from participating if they cannot pay. There will also be opportunity for scholarships when available.
